形態特徵

Rhizome well developed; culm to 1.5 m high.
Blade farinose and usually covered with soft hairs, to 40 cm long, 1 cm wide; ligule rounded, ciliated at apex, 1-2 cm long.
Panicle ca. 35 cm long; main axis hairy, fan shaped, branches erect, to 25 cm long; joints of rachis 5-10 mm long; pedicels one longer and other shorter. Spikelets paired, all pedicellate, monomorphic, lanceolate, ca. 4.5-5 mm long; callus of silky hairs, hairs nearly equaling spikelet; lower glume acuminate, 3-nerved, margins keeled, glabrous; upper glume boat shaped, acuminate, margins ciliate; lower lemma oblong-lanceolate, obtuse; upper lemma ca. 2/3 as long as spikelet, deeply 2-cleft, with a geniculate awn, protruding from sinus, awn ca. 10 mm long; upper palea 1/2 as long as lemma, toothed at apex.
